Large Vellum Lantern

A Light Inspired by the Medieval World

We handcraft each lantern in our workshop using larch wood and traditional calfskin vellum. The design is based on examples shown in medieval manuscripts. 

When lit, the light shines softly through the vellum, creating a warm and atmospheric glow.

The internal mechanism allows the tealight platform to be raised or lowered and secured using a pin in the base. 

Dimensions: Height 25 cm and diameter 14.5 cm. 

The lantern is finished with a leather carrying handle. 

Candle Safety

Use only a standard paraffin tealight in its original metal cup. Do not use beeswax candles or larger tealights, as they are not suitable for this lantern.

Place the lantern upright on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Never move the lantern or adjust the candle platform while the tealight is burning or still hot. 

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children, pets and flammable materials. Allow the lantern to cool completely before handling.
